PERSONAL GROWTH through Private Consultation

I can meet with you in my office at the Women’s Wellness and Education Center near downtown Asheville or if you are not local, we can Skype our consultation. My approach is straightforward, non-judgmental, and based on your needs. I help you explore your concerns to find insight and solutions that work within your value system.

Below is a list of issues I commonly see in my practice:

  • Low sexual desire
  • Erection difficulties
  • Orgasm difficulties
  • Rapid or early ejaculation
  • Sexual inexperience or boredom
  • Negative sexual body image
  • Expanding sexual repertoire
  • Incompatibility with the one you love
  • Dealing with sexual or physical changes that occur throughout the life cycle
  • Sex and aging
  • Unanswered questions about sex

I suggest non-medical solutions that work within your value system. I will give you specific strategies for real improvement. I can also work with you and your physician or therapist in finding answers to your concern.

I am a sexologist, not a licensed therapist, counselor, psychologist or psychoanalyst.

Since I do not offer psychotherapy, I am unfortunately unable to accept insurance reimbursement.

Cost: $95 per 50-minute session.

Full payment is due at the conclusion of each appointment.

24 hours’ notice required for cancellation

I am rarely able to fill a cancelled session unless I know at least 24 hours in advance. If you are unable to provide at least 24 hours notice when you cancel, you will be charged the full fee for your session. The only time I will waive this fee is in the event of serious illness or emergency.

EDUCATION

Most of us (but not all!) had a sex-education class in middle school (or that uncomfortable discussion with our mom or dad) where we learned about the mechanics and consequences of having sex. Hollywood and television promote sex as being for the young and the thin—and, generally, as scandalous, if not downright tawdry. But, as adults, we can find and celebrate our sexual selves and be positive and affirming, no matter our body type or our age. Learning about and enjoying sex has so many benefits, from boosting our self-esteem and our immune systems to enhancing our physical and emotional relationships.

Small-Group Intensive Classes

We all think about sex, we all have questions about sex, and most of us are curious about how our sexuality can be enhanced.  In a group setting, we discover that this is not only “normal” but positive. Each person sets their own goals and creates their own plan for what they want to achieve in this class. Learning happens as a group. The facilitator and other group members are there for support and encouragement.

To create and maintain a safe learning environment, group members are asked to attend all classes, do assigned homework, come to class on time and prepared, and to participate as fully and honestly as they are able.

Workshops

Workshops are fun, short and to the point!  They focus in on a particular topic or theme. Workshops are generally three hours in length, cost varies, and class size is limited.

ADVOCACY

This I believe!

Everyone should have the right to:

  • express their full sexual potential without coercion, exploitation and abuse.
  • make decisions by myself and for myself about my sexual life and be free from sexual torture, mutilation and violence of any sort.
  • participate in any type of sexual behaviors as long as they do not intrude on the sexual rights of others.
  • be free from all forms of discrimination regardless of sex, gender, sexual orientation, age, race, social class, religion, or physical and emotional disability.
  • experience sexual pleasure, including self-pleasuring, as a source of physical, psychological, intellectual and spiritual well being.
  • marry or not, regardless of sexual or gender identity.
  • decide whether or not to have children, the number and spacing of children, and the right to full access to the means of fertility regulation.
  • access sexual information based upon scientific inquiry that is medically accurate.
  • experience comprehensive sexuality education from birth throughout the life cycle.
  • receive sexual health care for prevention and treatment of all sexual concerns, problems and disorders.
