Stewards of Children
Did you know?
- 1 in 4 girls are sexually abused before age 18
- 1 in 6 boys are sexually abused before age 18
- The median age for sexually assaulted children is 9 years-old
- More than 80% of cases of child sexual abuse occur in one child/one adult situations.
- You can work to stop this abuse.
Stewards of Children is the only nationally available program scientifically proven to increase knowledge, improve attitudes, and change child-protective behaviors. It is appropriate for schools, youth-serving organizations (sports leagues, day care centers, after school programs, children’s clubs, church groups and more) and parents.
The three-hour workshop is designed to educate adults how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to the reality of child sexual abuse. Authorized Facilitator Kelley J. Wolfe, Ph. D., leads the training.
This workshop is held from 8:30 am to 11:30 every second Monday of the month at the Women’s Wellness and Education Center, 24 Arlington St, near downtown Asheville. Cost is $30 for each participant, and includes the cost of an interactive workbook. Scholarships are available. Programs can also be held in your school, community center, or house of worship.
Pre-registration is required; for more information call Kelley @ 828.301.4460 or email her at mountainsexology@bellsouth.com
